About Joe Reiter

I’m running for mayor because East Bethel is approaching a period when decisions about growth, infrastructure, taxes, public safety, and land use will shape the community for a generation.

Professional Background

My career has focused on business management, commercial strategy, and improving how organizations make decisions. I have worked at major manufacturing companies in Minnesota. That experience has reinforced a simple lesson: good decisions start with clear objectives, good information, accountability, and an understanding of long-term consequences. Community Involvement

I have served on the East Bethel Planning Commission and became involved because land-use decisions can permanently shape the city. My involvement has included close attention to development proposals, transparency, planning, and the balance between growth and preserving the community residents chose to live in.

How I Approach Government

I believe elected officials should be willing to ask basic questions, challenge assumptions, and insist that major proposals have a clearly defined purpose. Residents deserve more than assurances that a policy or expenditure is necessary. They deserve to understand why it is necessary, what alternatives exist, what it will cost, and what success looks like.
