Growth Without Suburbanization

East Bethel should not become a patchwork of suburban subdivisions simply because development pressure reaches us. Higher-intensity development belongs where infrastructure and transportation can support it. Large rural areas should remain rural.

Commercial and industrial growth can help diversify the tax base and reduce pressure on residential property owners. The city should deliberately pursue development that adds lasting value rather than creating new long-term service burdens without sufficient return.
